Can Steam Deck Run Hogwarts Legacy?

Update 02/03/2023: Hogwarts Legacy is now officially Verified on Steam Deck. The game’s Steam product page states: “This game is fully functional on Steam Deck, and works great with the built-in controls and display”.

Verified on Steam Deck means:

• All functionality is accessible when using the default controller configuration.
• Hogwart Legacy shows Steam Deck controller icons.
• In-game interface text is legible on Steam Deck.
• Hogwart Legacy’s default graphics configuration performs well on Steam Deck.

In addition, Steam points out that “this game’s first set up requires an active internet connection”.

Original post: In January 2023, Warner Bros officially confirmed in several tweets that Hogwarts Legacy will also run and be verified on the Steam Deck right after the release. The official WB Games Twitter channel wrote:

How Much Disk Space Does Hogwarts Legacy Need?

Hogwarts Legacy will take up around 85GB of hard drive space on the PC.

The smallest variant of the Steam Deck with 64 GB, therefore, does not offer enough storage space to install the game. 64GB Steam Deck owners need to add an additional SD card to install Hogwarts Legacy on it.

Does Hogwarts Legacy Run at 60 fps on the Steam Deck?

We will only be able to test on February 7th, 2023 whether Hogwarts Legacy will run with good performance and 60 fps on the Steam Deck.

It will also be interesting to see if Hogwarts Legacy will be playable in 16:10. The Steam Deck has an aspect ratio of 16:10 with a resolution of 1280*800. Games that can only be displayed in 16:9 then have a 40px high black border at the top and bottom of the screen.
