Hey... so I found out about this drink when I moved up to the Bay Area in California. The tea stations here serve a drink called "Hot Grass Jelly". A great drink to have during the winter weather. It's a soupy texture made out of grass jelly and sweetened with sugar, I think. Other things like boba, red bean, green bean and mochi can be added as well. Here's what it looks like.
I would like to know how to make it at home, so I can have it any time without having to leave the house just to get the drink. I tried looking for recipes online, but can't find any... Most of the recipes online describe how to make drinks that include grass jelly bits (cold). That's not what I want.
I tried buying the grass jelly block that comes in a can and melting it over the stove... but it doens't melt well. Weird... I thought jelly would melt fast cause it's jelly, but this didn't. I let it simmer on the stove for about 45 minutes. It looked chunky and tasted bitter now matter how much sugar I put in.
Anyone here know how to make this at home?
