Dylan O’Brien is an American actor and musician best know for starring in Teen Wolf, and The Maze Runner series. He was born to parents Lisa and Patrick on August 26, 1991, in New York City. He has an older sister named Julia. O’Brien spent his early childhood in New Jersey before moving to Hermosa Beach, California with his family. He attended Mira Costa High School. O’Brien originally wanted to become a sports broadcaster but that ambition was put on hold.
CAREER
O’Brien started out posting videos on the YouTube video platform. His popularity grew and he developed a large fan base. He was approached by a local producer and before long he was auditioning for various television roles. In 2010, O’Brien was cast as “Stiles Stilinski” in the MTV series, Teen Wolf. The show premiered on June 5, 2011, and has since completed five seasons. The show was renewed in July 2015 for a sixth season. O’Brien has won two Teen Choice Awards and a Young Hollywood Award for his role in Teen Wolf. He also appeared on a 2013 episode of the sitcom, New Girl.
O’Brien’s feature film debut was the 2011 comedy film, High Road. The film was directed by comedian Matt Walsh. O’Brien starred alongside Vice Vaughn and Owen Wilson in the 2013 comedy film, The Internship. He also appeared in the film ‘The First Time’ and he will be playing the character “Caleb Holloway” in Deepwater Horizon (2016). O’Brien rose to stardom with his lead role of “Thomas” in The Maze Runner film series. The first installment was in 2014 followed by ‘The Scorch Trials’ in 2015. The third film ‘The Death Cure’ is slated for release in 2017. O’Brien’s performance in The Maze Runner series has earned him three MTV Movie Awards and several nominations.
