The Paddle for Keiki fundraiser will be held at the Kihei Canoe Club on Saturday to help raise money for Maui County youth during the holiday season, organizer Hawaiian Paddle Sports announced.

Participants will paddle “anything that floats” in untimed races just like the Paddle for Hunger event around Thanksgiving, but instead of donating food, they will donate toys and gifts for Maui’s underprivileged youth.

The event starts with check-in at 7 a.m., and races start at 8 a.m. There will be an after-party brunch at 10 a.m. with food and drink specials and live music at Nalu’s.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register online, with credit card donations preferred. The first 75 individuals who donate $30 or more will receive a Paddle for Keiki T-shirt or holiday ornament, plus free brunch at the after-party. Checks, cash and credit cards are accepted. Checks can be made payable to “Hawaiian Paddle Sports.”
